Dear Murray Families,
We finally had a taste of spring this week! Our students are excited and so pleased to be able to go outside and get some fresh air! This week was Turn Off TV Week , once again proving to be a huge success! Participation was tremendous and a large number of families turned off their “screens.. Thank you to our PTA volunteers for coordinating a fantastic week!
Please remind your children to leave their completed "I Did It" forms in the box by the main office by the end of the day on Monday, April 21st. They will have the chance to win one of two raffles per grade. Thank you for participating!
On Wednesday evening we held our annual Crunchy Carnival! Hundreds of Murray students and families participated by dancing, tasting samples of healthy foods and doing yoga. We encourage parents to include their child/children in food shopping and meal preparation so that they can continue their understanding and pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. A big thank you to Jennifer Bransfield and Kristin DeFelice for chairing this event and to the numerous volunteers who staffed the booths!
We are already making plans for our next school year. With this in mind, if your child will not be returning to Murray next year, please inform your child’s teacher and Deborah in the office. In addition, if you have a child entering kindergarten in September, please be sure you’ve registered him/her and please encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.
We are still collecting children’s magazines and have placed these donated magazines on each lunchroom table. We have already seen students perusing magazines and conversing with their peers about articles and photos! If you have donations, please drop them off in the box outside the Main office. Thank you!
